CANDLE

This project is my Final Project for my Graphic Design degree at the Federal University of Paraná. The entire animation was developed by me, combining the theoretical and practical knowledge I gained throughout my undergraduate studies, from research and conceptualization to modeling, texturing, animation, and finalization.

The focus of this work is on the aesthetics of PlayStation 1 graphics, characterized by low-poly visuals, simple textures, noise, and technical limitations that ultimately became its own language. To recreate this style in current software, I conducted intensive research on the console's characteristics and the PSX movement, studying how its restrictions generated specific effects and how to faithfully translate them into contemporary production workflows.

The animation combines these aesthetic choices with a narrative inspired by Dalton Trevisan and set in Curitiba, exploring the melancholy, silence, and fragmented atmosphere of the city. The result is an original visual study that unites technique, research, and sensitivity to reinterpret a nostalgic style within a contemporary context.
